Aerial Evolution Association of Canada – 2024 Student UAS Competition
The annual Student UAS Competition is an opportunity to promote and develop Canadian expertise and experience in unmanned systems technologies at the university and college levels. Competitions for 2023 & 2024 were hosted by the Centre d’Excellence sur les Drones (CED) @ Alma, Quebec. 2 Phases:
Phase 1: Design Paper which are judged on innovation, technical details, design aspects, safety, risks and project management.
Phase 2: Airborne Competition, which includes a Team Presentation to the “client” ” operational flights to meet the required task and a Flight Report presented after the final flight.
2025, our host location will be Medicine Hat, Alberta, where the Concept of Operations is Wildfire Detect & React.
- Task 1: Respond to the first visible sign of fire, map hotspots
- Task 2: Deliver water to fire targets
